SkillBridge / Career Skills Program, CSP

The JROTC Instructor Career Skills Program, CSP, allows eligible transitioning service members to train with host schools prior to retirement or separation. Participants gain hands-on experience in classroom instruction, mentorship, and leadership development.

Eligibility Checklist

  • As of 18 May 2026, MILPER Number: 26-175 indicates the following:
    • E6-E7, WO-CWO3, O1-O3 have a max participation time of 90 days.
    • E8-E9, CWO4-CWO5, O4 and above have a max participation of 60 days.
    • Must have command approval to participate.
    • Must submit completed CSP application form.
  • Must coordinate with host school and Cadet Command.

Background Checks (T1WC)

  • All instructors must complete Tier 1 with Childcare (T1WC) investigation.
  • Do not submit forms until directed by the Background Check Administrator.

Pay & Compensation

  • Pay is based on military rank, education level, and school funding.
  • Schools may offer additional pay above the minimum instructor rate.
