Level Education GS Equivalent
JS-1 Less than Associate GS 10, Step 2
JS-2 Associate GS 10, Step 3
JS-3 Bachelor’s GS 10, Step 4
JS-4 Master’s GS 10, Step 5
JS-5 Doctorate or JD GS 10, Step 6

JS-7 Master’s (Officer) GS 11, Step 7

📊 JSIPS Adjustments & Reimbursement

Instructors maintain pay levels even if new JSIPS is lower. Grandfathering (XX suffix) applies only within the original district. All pay raises are effective July 1 annually.

Districts must match MIP and are encouraged to pay more based on experience. Army only reimburses 50% of MIP, not terminal leave or overages.

New Hire & Transfers: Submit DD Form 2767 and request letters prior to hire or transfer. Missing documentation can delay pay.

Furloughs & JCLC: Furlough days aren’t reimbursable. For JCLC adjustments, submit endorsed brigade memos — Army matches 50%.

Monthly Reimbursements: EFT statements are issued by the 15th of the following month. Instructors and districts should reconcile at year-end if needed.
