Submitting Cadet News Stories

NOTE: SOME STORY SUBMISSION CRITERIA HAVE BEEN UPDATED

The Army JROTC Cadet News page serves as a Cadet-sourced news platform to highlight interesting Army JROTC stories to the nation. For localized stories consider reaching out to your local news stations.

All stories will be considered for publication on a case-by-case basis but here are some basic criteria for stories to be published.

Story Criteria

  • • Placed top three in a regional/national competition

    • Community Service

    • Prestigious nationally or regionally recognized awards

    • Collaboration with a nationally recognized brand/organizations (Sports teams, non-profits etc.)

    • Medal of Heroism

    • Story highlights programs in key expansion areas Current Areas of Interest: CALIFORNIA, IOWA, OHIO

    • Observances – Submissions should be received within 10 days of observance

    • Collaborations between ROTC and JROTC programs

    • Avoid stories with a narrow scope of interest

    • Special Interests – Outside the box experiences that are unique to JROTC

Technical Criteria

• Article is at least three paragraphs

• Article has at least two quotes

• Photos as JPEG or .tiff

• Candid action photos preferred over posed shots.

• Avoid hand gestures in photos

• Videos currently not supported

If photos are in uniform, ensure that Cadets are dressed in accordance with Cadet Command Regulation 145-2.

Stories with incorrect uniform wear may not be published. Your attention to detail preserves the professionalism and integrity of the JROTC program.

Submit articles for publication on the JROTC website using the form below. Submissions for potential social media coverage may be emailed to the Webmaster. The JROTC website is all about our Cadets — your stories make them shine!

Note: If images cannot be uploaded via the form, email them separately to the Webmaster. Avoid using cloud links (such as OneDrive and Dropbox) for security reasons.
