On Thursday, 22 May 2025, the Brackenridge High School JROTC program supported the Annual CPS Energy Memorial Day event. Established in 1860, CPS Energy is the nations largest community owned provider of electric and Natural gas services.

The leadership team at CPS Energy took this opportunity to honor and remember those who have died while serving in the US Military. They reflected on the service and sacrifices of their employees who have served or lost family members and friends while serving.
Our Elite Color Guard was requested to present the Colors as part of their opening ceremony. The Color Guard was Commanded by Cadet MAJ Cortes, the Texas Flag was Cadet Staff Sergeant Salazar, the Guards were Cadet First Lieutenant Castaneda and Cadet Staff Sergeant Beltran They also raised the flag at the CPS Headquarters and lowered it to half staff in honor of the fallen Service members.
Cadet Staff Sergeant Louis Perez had the unique privilege of singing the National Anthem, as well as playing TAPS during the ceremony. The CPS Energy leadership team expressed their sincere appreciation for the continued support of the Mighty Eagle Battalion.
